Girouard Vines is an urban winery located in†the Bend Development of downtown
Tulsa’s East Village District. The small, family owned and operated winery was
founded by Chris Girouard in 2007 to bring the fruit of his father’s hybrid vines
to market.
Testing of George Girouard Hybrids is currently underway in small vineyards in
South Tulsa and Alfalfa County, Oklahoma and in a block within the Heringer Estates Vineyard in Clarksburg,
California. In the meantime, Girouard Vines is proud to offer the Tulsa Deco Label.
As one of the top four Art Deco cities in the country, Tulsa’s rich history deserves
to be honored with a special label. And as Tulsa’s only urban winery, Girouard Vines
is the natural choice to produce that series.
Currently, there are six award-winning wines in the Tulsa Deco series (all produced
from grapes grown and crushed in California). The six Tulsa Deco wines are a
2009 Sauvignon Blanc featuring the historic “Warehouse Market” on 11th and Elgin;
“Fire Alarm Red” featuring the Public Workís Fire Alarm Building on 8th Street just
west of Peoria; a 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon honoring the “Westhope” residence,
Tulsa’s only Frank Lloyd Wright structure; “Atlas Life”, a 2008 Chardonnay, featuring Downtown
Tulsa’s Atlas Life Building that recently opened as a boutique hotel operated by
Marriot; “Spotlight” Merlot, named after the Spotlight Theatre, the company that occupies the featured
Riverside Studio, and our most recent release in the Tulsa Deco Series,. "Streamline CabFranc", a 2009 Cabernet Franc honoring one of the three distinct styles of Art Deco as well as "Bouilder on the Park" a classic Tulsa architectural inheritance from the Streamline style of the Art Deco movement.
